Mike Shrauger...
learned to hunt by literally following
in his father's footsteps while still hunting the vast forests of
northern Michigan. It was also during those young formative years that
Mike's father taught him to Salmon fish on Lake Michigan.
One of Mike's greatest assets when it
comes to hunting and fishing is his incredible work ethic. Another trait
instilled by his father at a very early age, Mike paid his own way
through college, graduating with money in the bank. Today, that same
drive and work ethic has made him one of the Midwest's top performers in
the packaging industry. |
Rarely will you find a highly successful
outdoorsman that doesn't have a highly competitive
nature. Mike is no different. As a student Mike played college football
and down hill ski raced. Mike continued with these sports at a higher
level after college adding bicycle racing as well. All of these aided in
giving Mike a "disciplined competitiveness" that generally
spells disaster for any fish or animal that he targets.
Mike has harvested 15 Pope & Young
deer since 1995 on “do it yourself” hunts.
Mike has hunted Michigan, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Indiana, and Ohio.
Mike
is quick to recognize that success requires talented hunting partners.
Mike would like to thank his life long hunting partner Roy Holliday for
the successes they've had together.

A

Mike is also a very talented fisherman. In 2004, he formed a team to
start fishing the professional tournaments of the
Great Lakes. In the teams first three seasons, they recorded a very
respectable string of finishes. In 2005, the team was on the cover of Great Lakes Angler
Magazine. Mike's first attempt at writing saw his article published in the Tournament Trail Magazine, a publication
devoted to the Great Lakes tournament angler.
Mike lives in west Michigan with his incredibly supportive wife
Kelly, and their four children Jessica, Brittany, Jordan, and Sophie. |
