Chuck Johnson...

Growing up in a small town in SE Missouri, Chuck was fortunate
enough to have a father and uncle who spent every spare
minute they had in the outdoors.  His fondest memories as a
child are of the times spent with them target practicing with
their bows in the back yard and the weekend hunting trips they
took together. They didn’t have any land of their own, so they
were forced to hunt the public ground available to them.

“Most seasons I could count the number of deer sightings we
had on one hand, but we still had a blast each and every time
out into the deer woods”, recalls Chuck.

For him, it was these early experiences that first ignited his
passion for hunting and the outdoors.

Chuck spent a few hunting seasons learning from his mistakes before connecting on his first deer
with a bow, but that moment proved to impact his life more so than he could have ever imagined.
“My first successful bowhunt is something I’ll never forget, and since that point my passion for
whitetail hunting has grown into more of a way of life than a hobby. So much so, that I am currently
finishing my Mechanical Engineering degree for the sole purpose of obtaining a job that would afford
me the possibility to buy that hunting land I never had when I was younger.” he says.  Chuck now
spends every free minute he can in the outdoors as he gets more reward from a successful hunt
knowing that he put the hard work in to warrant it.

Chuck has received a job offer from Garmin located in Olathe, Kansas, so he and his family will be
relocating there this summer.  He and his filming partner, Owen Reigler, have already located some
prime hunting ground there and are looking forward to seeing some of the deer Kansas is well known
for.  They also passed some nice deer last year in Iowa which they are hoping to have some
encounters with next fall as well.  “We should see some really nice deer this fall,” Chuck speculates,
“and if all goes well, we’ll knock down some giant bucks.”
