Danny Brauns...

grew up as a Southeast Iowa farm boy and took up hunting from an early age.  His older brother Chris (a pastor in Illinois ) recalls from the time Danny could walk, he lived and breathed the outdoors.  Growing up with a hard working father whose time was spent in the fields, Danny became a self-taught outdoorsman.  He remembers Sundays after church being dropped off at various family farms where the journey began.  It was during these times, and others, that he became a self-taught hunter and developed a love for small game hunting that later developed into his pursuit and passion of whitetail deer (which his mother has often said bordered on obsession J).

In that pursuit, Danny has found much success.  He continues to hunt those same farms in Van Buren County, Iowa, today harvesting record book whitetails year after year.  Being a typical farm boy, he finds joy in working hard developing his deer herds which means strictly managing what he harvests.  That comes with year-round work on food plots, shed hunting, velvet footage, running trail cameras and scouting his families’ properties.

Currently Danny has extended his love for the hunt by guiding others on his ground and planting the seeds of addiction in those he guides.  Danny owns and operates Southeast Iowa Whitetail Trophies.

When not hunting, Danny can be found at his “day job”, where he is an engineer for The Winegard Co. in Burlington , Iowa .  He also loves spending time with friends on the golf course and working on home improvement projects with his family.  Danny is married and has 3 boys who he hopes will develop the same passion for the outdoors as he has.
