In the early 90’s, Jim, along with a small group of friends bow killed
31 Pope & Young class whitetails in a six year span… all off of
public ground in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
In the mid 90’s, Jim began testing
his whitetail prowess on out-of-state hunts. His first trip to Kansas
landed him his biggest whitetail to date, a 188” B&C giant taken
after he had passed on 9 different bucks scoring over 125”. His return
to Kansas the next year, netted him one of his best bow kills, a 155”
P&Y buck that he shot the first morning in a stand he had scouted
and set over a month earlier.
Jim’s obsession with
mature deer has taken him across the Midwest. He’s been fortunate to
hunt and harvest deer in Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Kansas, Illinois,
North Dakota, and Ohio. |
